V-41 Marlin Tower

One of the key benefits of owning a Valhalla is that you have the same resources at your disposal as Viking customers, including the subsidiaries of Atlantic Marine Electronics (AME) and Palm Beach Towers (PBT). We recently captured some images of hull No. 33 of the V-41, which sports a custom fold-down marlin tower from PBT.

Aesthetically speaking, you might say this Valhalla is piping hot. The premium polished anodized aluminum structure is both highly functional and fiercely good-looking with its flowing aerodynamic curves and shapely molded fiberglass parts. The tower’s aft section includes a series of welded steps and a total of 12 rod holders – four on the aft legs, four on the inner legs and another quartet on the hardtop.

The hardtop and sunshade undersides match the V-41’s Shimmering Blue gelcoat. The hardtop underside also includes recessed areas for tri-color and fore and aft spreader lights, an integrated panel for electronics and custom pods for stereo speakers. A pair of collapsible carbon fiber outriggers and a carbon fiber center rigger are also part of the fishing features.

This V-41 also boasts a custom electronics, navigation and entertainment package from AME. The hardtop’s navigational appendages include integrated nav lights, three Lumitec Razor LED light bars, a Garmin radar with a four-foot array antenna and a FLIR thermal imaging camera.

The customization continues in the upper helm. The sunshade, which is removable, has a molded-in recessed area for a pair of electric teaser reels; the bench seat backrest features a removable center section; and both the tower sunshade and the top of the fiberglass control box are painted satin black for enhanced visibility. In addition to the Edson stainless steel steering wheel and Mercury controls, the 38-inch control box neatly holds a Garmin GPSMAP 8610, a bow thruster joystick, and a control panel for the Zipwake Dynamic Control System. There’s also a pair of speakers mounted on the bottom of the control box.
